I just realized that these posts are not going to be in order as I wanted them to be. I'm writing several today and didn't realize the last post will be on top. So, being a bloggin newbe, the last post, Sold house, bought house and pregnant...oh my! was meant to be read first and so on......
Now, I thought I would just give little updates on Cora and Colette since I talk about Kade in the following post.
Cora
She is doing great. She has grown both physically and maturly a lot over the last few months. She still keeps us on our toes, but she is doing amazing things. She is a red belt in TKD and only two belts away from becoming a black belt. Her goal is to help teach classes, which she does a little now. She loves to help others learn TKD and still loves that she is taking the class with her dad!
There are some girls her age in the neighborhood that she rides bikes with and plays with sometimes. But, her closest friends are some girls from her Little Flowers group. This is her fourth year and a new girl joined that she has become close with. It's been nice seeing her make these friendships.
As for schooling, she's doing well. She will take her first standardized test the first week of June. She still loves to read and insisted on learning cursive. I wasn't surprised since she loves "fancy" writing. She's been taking free classes at the library and will be taking a cooking class with fellow homeschoolers based on a geography lesson once a month. I'm really proud of her!
Colette
She is two in every way! She thinks she's at least 5 and tries to be 10. She hangs out while we do our school work and tries to do it all, too. She just learned how to ride her tricycle to keep up with the kids in the neighborhood and thinks everything is "MINE!" She's tough at times, but also gentle and sweet. She is absolutly funny and is talking more and more every day. She loves to play with the kids and really likes to play with Kade's dinosours and stuff! This can cause some problems at times, but for the most part, they play excellent together. She holds her own in this family! We love her!

Cora,
ReplyDeleteYou're an awsome young lady and a super big sister. You keep getting better.
Colette, You are soooo two, and we wouldn't have you any other way.
You're both beautiful and I love you.

Hey, Jennifer, here's a blog help...you can edit the publish dates and time on your blog to get them to go in the order you want. Go to your edit screen and click "Post Options" on the bottom left corner. From there, plug in your date and time. Devine (of course) showed me this because I was lamenting that I wanted to get some posts ready to publish in the future for "Fostering Truth". She said, "No problem" and sure enough, I have a couple of posts with a future date scheduled for their publication. Hope that makes sense:).
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that Cora and Colette are doing well. What test is Cora taking? Is it a state requirement or just for family purposes? Let me know if she enjoys being in a test taking setting. My guess is that she will love it and step up to the challenge! Praying for her:). In addition to what you've already mentioned, what is Cora into these days? dolls? crafts? movies?
Colette reminds me of a dear little friend we have here, Sarah Beth. Cute as a button. Her mom just joined the 4Real board, Mary Moore, so hopefully you can get to know her there...she's great! Does Colette enjoy reading books much? If so, what kinds of books does she like?
Love,
Angie, Thank's for the tips! I'm working on it!
ReplyDeleteIt's state law to give a test every year starting at age seven/second grade. I can give her the test and will next week. I chose the CAT test and ordered it through Seaton. I'll mail it into them to get the results. I will change to the PASS test for third grade. I figure these first couple of years, I'll make it really simple to get her used to the test taking. I think she'll do great if she can stay focused and not get frustrated. That is her biggest challenge.
Cora is into Cicely M. Barker Flower Fairies, TKD, drawing, water coloring with pencils, reading, and nature stuff.
Colette likes books. I guess the classics are her favorites, Big Red Barn, Jesse Bear, Jamberry, stc.
Thanks! I'm happy to report that Marisa and Stevie are enjoying our books...maybe even a little more than JP because he's so used to them, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they like books. Books is one of the ways all my kids STOP and cool down when they are having a tough time.
