Merry Christmas!

What a great day we had here! The kids were very occupied with new toys, crafts and goodies. So much so, only a few melt-downs! The only challenging part is missing everyone, but thank goodness for phone conversations, pictures and video (We're almost there, Dean!)!!! Mark was able to talk with both of his grandmothers who sounded great. I even spoke with Grandma Salamon for about a half an hour. I learned quite a lot! We are are so blessed!

During nighttime prayers, Colette insisted we sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus, again. We think she's going to be an entertainer the way she sings and dances all the time! Then each one of us gave our own birthday message to Jesus: Kade, "Thank you for all of this that you give every day." Cora, "Thank you for coming to die on the cross for us and give us another chance to do right." Colette, (Still singing!). Mark, "Thank you for showing us the way we should live." Jennifer, "Thank you for living among us. It must have been very challenging at times, since we just don't seem to "get it" a lot of the time. Thank you for your patience and love."
Hope you all had a great Christmas, thank you for you generosity and we love and miss you all!

My First Blog Post

I have no idea what I'm doing!!! Thanks to my awesome niece, Devin, she has shown me the path to creating a family blog! I'm hoping to use this to post pictures and keep family updated with our life down here in NC. I will not be as creative as most bloggers, but I will do my best to learn and fill you in on our life.

FYI....I chose Salamon Spark as the Blog name because I was thinking of the kids and how they are like sparks that keep this family interesting. Let's face it, without them, I wouldn't need a blog.

Oh man! This has spell check....I am so happy!

Love to you all!
